Background

Emile is one of the most talented junior athletes in the UK and is already targeting selection for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020. Not yet 21 years old, he has run 29:49 for 10k and is confident he can improve the British junior record for that distance (29:35) in due course. Emile is coached by Phil Townsend in Leeds, and divides his time between there and St Mary’s University in Twickenham. So far in 2018 he has won the Yorkshire County XC Championships, the Northern Counties XC Championships (U20), and finished 2nd in the English National XC Championships. His best times to date suggest he is on track for a very successful international career in years to come. Emile will be making his debut over ten miles in the ‘Cabbage Patch 10’ this weekend as part of his build-up to the European Cross Country Trials in Liverpool on 24 November.
