Born in Reading to an English father and a Welsh mother; as far as athletics and rugby are concerned I am Welsh! Made my athletics debut as a schoolgirl in North Wales in the high jump and on the relay team. Moved to Cheltenham aged 9. Finished 6th in my first English Schools 800m final aged 15. Now coached by Bud who has converted me to 1500m. Graduated in Medicine from Birmingham University in 2014. Now balancing life on the hospital wards with life in running.

Who is your sporting hero?

Jess Ennis. Closer to home: my training group, who push me to become a better athlete.

How did you get involved in competitive running?

I won an inter-schools 600m race aged 10 and got hooked! I joined Cheltenham Harriers as soon as I was old enough and set about becoming an 800m runner.

What are your goals for 2017?

To qualify for the Commonwealth Games for Team Wales.
