Background

Teresiah’s first race outside of her native Kenya was at the 2015 edition of the Taroudant 10km in Morocco. The race always attracts an impressive field and so it was a great achievement that Teresiah, aged just 20, finished in a very respectable third place with a time of 33.00.

The young athlete spent the rest of her 2015 race season in the UK, where she topped the podium in all of her races. Amongst her triumphs, Teresiah saw off stiff competition at the Bristol Half in the form of British elites Jenny Spink and Michelle Ross-Cope. The following week Teresiah beat team mate and seasoned athlete Purity Kimetto at the Swansea Bay 10km and then at the Torbay Half Marathon she finished seventh overall and more than a minute ahead of the second female competitor.

In her first autumn race of 2016, Teresiah returned to defend her title at the Ealing Half Marathon; she not only succeeded but also set a new women’s course record.

With these fantastic results under her belt we look forward to developing this young talent to further success.
